How Do We Know If We Have Started Into Menopause
Ok,
Ladies, listen up. Are you getting older and you find that your life is
beginning to turn upside down? Are you starting to enter into the biological
part of your life that you have always dreaded? Believe it or not, it will give
you the assurance and freedom in your womanhood and the term we use is
menopause.
The
word menopause refers to no longer having monthly periods. The symptoms are
varied, but it usually takes place in during the forties to the mid-fifties in
a woman's life and can even last up to 10 years. In most cases fertility
declines, your ovaries stop producing eggs and eventually it all stops
functioning all together.
Menopause
Symptoms:
You”ll find that
having sex is more difficult because of vaginal dryness.
You will find it
difficult to sleep. Sometimes you'll have a hard time falling asleep or waking
up too early.
Hot flashes will
appear as a sudden rush of heat and that can last for up to a few minutes or
less.
You will find that
you are more prone to infections because of the vaginal walls thinning and the
genital area becomes drier, which is why sexual intercourse becomes more
painful.
Women's deaths are
caused more from heart disease than breast cancer or lung cancer.
Osteoporosis can be a
problem due to loss of bone tissue or weakness in your bones.
Menopause doesn't have to be a
bad thing, but is usually an emotional turning point. There can be so many
positive and rewarding opportunities for you to ponder the things that you have
done and hope to do in this phase of life.
A few tips to remember are:
Menopause can be
brought on early because of poor nutrition
Women can enter into
menopause as early as their 30's and as late as their 60's
Menopause has many
symptoms such as changes in mood, lack of sex drive, poor sleeping patterns,
hot flashes, skipped periods and painful intercourse.
There is no way to
avoid menopause. It will happen to all women. There is no way to prevent it.
No two women are
alike. Some may breeze right through the symptoms and others might really
·
struggle with the
symptoms.
You can make this transition
easier if you stay away from spicy foods and hot drinks and try to avoid
stress. Try wearing loose clothing, eat healthy and exercise regularly. This
should help you battle a few of the symptoms that are making this time in your
life more difficult.
