Early Menonpause Symptoms
Early menopause symptoms are
found in one out of every hundred women. Most women begin menopause around the
age of 45, so if you begin at or before the age of 40, that is considered early
menopause. Many times the symptoms are unrecognized because of the age, and
some can actually be in the teens or even in their twenties. Can you imagine
being in your teens and going through menopause? This process can take seven
to ten years to complete.
Some of the signs to watch
for in detecting early menopause symptoms:
1. Irregular bleeding This
can also be very unpredictable and can be very different for every woman.
Irregular periods and occasional bleeding are symptoms as well as excessive
bleeding. That can be confusing, however, because it is very common among
premenopausal women to miss their periods for a month or more, and then have
one or two, and then miss them again.
2. Early menopause symptoms
are most commonly brought on by age. A hysterectomy can be another reason for
this change in life to occur. This is the main reason doctors put women on
hormone replacement therapy.
3. A lack of sleep can cause
mood swings, which was once thought of as a symptom of menopause. Night sweats
can also cause some women a lack of sleep and therefore, not themselves. This
is not conclusive, however. If a woman has a history of depression, a lack of
sleep can make the symptoms worse.
4. Hot flashes are a symptom
of early menopause. When experiencing hot flashes, the body suddenly gets warm
and then perspiring occurs. Hot flashes are also associated with night sweats,
which can leave you drenched while sleeping. 40% of women experience early
menopause symptoms that can last up to five years or longer. 10% of women will
experience night sweats and hot flashes for ten years.
5. Obesity or being
overweight can cause premenopausal symptoms. If you are overweight, you can
experience irregular periods or bleeding patterns and it is important that you
discuss this with your doctor, to rule out any other illnesses or health
related problems.
